WWII
Allied Victory Re-Enactment Living History:
On Saturday, September 26, 2009 WW II re-enactors
are honoring the 314th by setting up living history
displays. The re-enactors’ theme is “Allied
Victory” allowing them to portray the brief
moment in time in 1945 of Victory over Nazi Germany
by the Allied powers. Reenactors will portray elements
of the 314th Infantry Regiment linking up with the
Red Army in Czechoslovakia in 1945. WWII Army vehicles
will be on display and we have live 1940’s
music during the day outdoors at the reenactment.
This
event will also Honor the Fallen of the 314th from
WW II through Iraq as well as honoring today’s
314th Infantry Regiment for their service. We are
having a 4 plane “Missing Man” formation
fly-over the hotel and local dignitaries will attend.
See the 90ft wide Iraq Freedom Wall which is a mobile
monument to the fallen in today’s conflicts
will be on display.
